Caledon 99 Boys Finalists at Polson Pier
The Caledon 99 Boys Indoor Soccer Team travelled to Toronto's Polson Pier on March 15th, 2010 to participate in the Soccerworld 2010 March Break Tournament.
Caledon's first game of the tournament against Unionville Milliken Soccer Club would prove to be a tight affair. The Caledon boys would face tight competition before edging out their opponents 2-1, on a Connor Balzan header late in the match. Caledon went on to face Peel Halton rivals North Mississauga Panthers in the their second round robin game, and in what was a more offensive-oriented game. Caledon jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead before North Mississauga responded with their first goal of the match. Caledon would respond with one more goal on their way to a 4-1 victory, and thereby guaranteeing themselves a spot in the tournament final. However, before the final would take place, Caledon would have to face Scarborough's Olympic Flame in the final game of the round robin. Caledon kept the game close, aware that they would likely have to meet Olympic Flame again in the final. Olympic Flame jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead early in the game, and would add one more late in the game for a 2-0 victory and a berth in the final against Caledon.
In an exciting final, Caledon and Olympic Flame would meet again. This time Caledon would jump out to an early lead thanks to another strong header by Connor Balzan. Olympic Flame however would continue to press offensively, and thanks to a late game goal, would send the game into a "sudden victory" overtime. However tight defense would result in neither team scoring in extra time, and now the final game was now set to be decided by penalty kicks. The first round of penalty kicks would end in a 4-4 tie after Vito Sica, Matteo Marini, Bikramjit Dhaliwal, and Connor Balzan all converted on their opportunities. In extra penalty kicks, and after 8 shooters aside had stepped up to take their penalty kicks, Olympic Flame squeezed the final tie-breaking goal to win the game, and claim the tournament championship.

U10 Boys Select Finish Strong in Orangeville
Caledon Soccer Club's BASF U10 Boys team finished strong in this year's Orangeville 2009 Stormfront soccer tournament, with an impressive 5-3 victory over Aurora on Sunday.
While the victory wasn't enough to advance the boys out of the round robin portion of the tournament, it certainly capped off a stong effort for the first-year team.
The team battled tough competition and the elements on the first day of the pre-season tournament. "After difficult losses against Erin Mills Eagles United and the Bradford Eagles on Saturday, it was great to see the kids pull together, and earn their first win as a team on Sunday" remarked head coach, Maurizio Marini. "I'm proud of their effort, and look forward to a successful season starting next week."
Caledon's Ryan Machado contributed 3 goals in Sunday's victory, with Matteo Marini and Bikramjit Dhaliwal contributing with single helpers. Strong defensive efforts by Ryan Casey, Vito Sica and William Robinson helped preserve the late lead for Caledon.
The Caledon BASF U10 Boys would like to thank their sponsors for their support - BASF, Monalica Cleaning & Maintenance, Rooms of Distinction Interior Decorating Services,
